Technology Solutions Inc., donated a Lenovo B50-45 Laptop to support the biennial benefit auction and dinner held by the Dexter Knights of Columbus and Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union. Technology Solutions is a full-service computer repair and retail shop located in Newport, Maine and serving all of central and northern Maine.
Admission to the event was $10 per ticket and included dinner, a live auction, a silent auction and door prizes. With only 115 tickets sold, attendees had a great chance to win.
Proceeds from the event were split between the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger and Knights of Columbus Charities. The Campaign for Ending Hunger has raised $5.9M since 1990 to help end hunger in Maine by supporting local food pantries and hunger organizations. About 68,950 Maine children are food insecure, meaning that they lack reliable access to affordable nutritious food.
Knights of Columbus Charities in Dexter provides scholarships to Dexter Regional High School, assistance to children with special needs at Ridge View Community School, and support for Our Lady’s Kitchen: a community kitchen serving Dexter, Dover, and the surrounding towns.
Local business like Technology Solutions, Inc. donated auction items and door prizes. Additional items were donated by Credit Union vendors. The food was cooked by volunteers from the Credit Union and the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization focused on charity, unity, and fraternity.
